This project is the continuation of the project supported by BeMed in 2019. The organisation is repeating its campaigns to raise awareness through activities such as exhibitions of waste statues, carnivals, and educational camps carried out with young people. Clean-up days will also be conducted in this component. Thanks to the experience acquired over the years, the organisation wishes in this act II to train other NGOs by involving them in the implementation of the actions.
Results of the project :
Eight beach, river and lake clean-ups were organised. Each time in different locations, on specific days (water day, earth day) and with a high participation. Five new associations were approached to participate in the clean-ups to raise awareness and a total of 50 cubic metres of waste were removed!
Awareness-raising and practical workshops taught children the importance of environmental protection (plastic pollution, water saving, noise pollution, respect for flora, information on recycling and reuse of objects). These “eco-schools” days were organised on 8 occasions. Another type of workshop was set up during the Kotor theatre festival, the association organised documentary screenings followed by debates on plastic pollution and environmental protection.
Four “eco-camps” were conducted. These are weekend events where young people are taught environmental values. Many activities take place (all related to environmental preservation and plastics), such as clean-ups, museum visits, art creation workshops to participate in exhibitions.
The association created and managed by the montenegrin youth has found funding to continue the Youth for a clean adriatic !
