- Zibel identified and cleaned up 10 coastal sites and 11 marine sites, collecting around 10 tonnes of waste.
- A map of the cleaned sites was produced and shared with stakeholders.
- Microplastics were collected, stored and incorporated into educational kits distributed to more than 20 schools.
- Approximately 1 tonne of waste was collected per site; some of the plastic was shredded thanks to a partnership with Playmobil Malta. Export for recycling was cancelled for logistical reasons, and a local recycling project is underway.
- Awareness campaigns were conducted on social media and educational materials, including lesson plans and microplastic samples, were distributed in schools.
