BeMed+ Project Summary:
The project aims to reduce plastic pollution in the Mediterranean by supporting stakeholders, sharing experiences, and implementing pilot actions in Albania and Tunisia. The tools and solutions developed will be shared within the BeMed network for replication.

ALBANIA OPPORTUNITY :
 IUCN-Med is seeking a consultant to tackle the pressing issue of plastic pollution along the Shkumbin River in Albania as part of the BeMed+ project. This project aims to reduce plastic waste in the Mediterranean by working with local stakeholders and implementing pilot actions that can be replicated across the region.

Key Responsibilities:
– Establish a baseline on plastic pollution in and along the Shkumbin River.
– Identify plastic leakage hotspots and analyze the sources of plastic waste.
– Engage with key stakeholders through a collaborative and participatory approach.
– Provide actionable recommendations for reducing plastic leakage.

TUNISIAN OPPORTUNITY :

IUCN-Med is seeking a consultant to support the BeMed+ project in Monastir, Tunisia focused on reducing plastic pollution in the Mediterranean. This consultancy will play a crucial role in developing a comprehensive analysis of the plastic pollution hotspots in the area, focusing on key sectors like hospitality, waste management, and sports.

Key Responsibilities:
– Establish baseline data on plastic pollution in Monastir.
– Identify major sources and hotspots of plastic leakage.
– Collaborate with stakeholders and host workshops to present findings and co-create solutions.

Fluency in French is required, with English as a plus.
