Since 2013 the AgroTech SM Association has been addressing the impact of agricultural plastic waste on the environment and human health.
The project supported by BeMed aims to build a regional action plan to structure the sector of agricultural waste recovery. Based on preliminary work, the project aims to establish a partnership agreement with the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development to ensure the recovery of agricultural plastic waste. This will be done through the reorganization of the recycling sector leading to a strengthening of the circular economy in the Souss Massa region. To accompany its implementation, awareness-raising and training sessions are planned with farmers and recyclers. A best practice guide and an evaluation system will also be issued in order to set guidelines for other organization to follow and ensure the success of the initiative.
