The initiative “A plastic-free sea in Tunisia: from awareness to action” aims to encourage the people of Tunis to adopt selective sorting.
Main results of the project:
Education, awareness raising, changing habits
- Awareness raising on selective sorting for 200 students in two pilot schools.
- Training of nine volunteers in ecological issues and the 3Rs.
- Installation of collection cages
Raising awareness of the problem of plastic pollution on beaches
- Three beach clean-up operations organized between 2019 and 2020.
- Participation of many young people (more than 50% were under 25 years old).
- Strengthening of a network of associative and municipal partners.
